Tan Linua conducts the Beijing Symphony Orchestra in two symphonies by Dvořak on Sept. 14 at the Rudolfinum as part of Dvořak Prague.
Listings Sept. 11-18
The Dvořák Prague festival runs to Sept. 20 at the Rudolfinum and other venues. Highlights this week include the Beijing Symphony Orchestra on Sept. 14, the Czech Philharmonic on Sept. 15 and 17, and baritone Adam Plachetka on Sept. 17.
The National Theater presents The Two Widows on Sept. 11, Carmen on Sept. 13, The Devil and Kate and The Bartered Bride on Sept. 15, and Aida on Sept. 17.
The State Opera presents Madame Butterfly on Sept. 11, Turnadot on Sept 12 and 15, La traviata on Sept. 13, La boheme on Sept. 14, and Don Carlo on Sept. 18. The Estates Theater has Orfeo ed Euridice on Sept. 16 and Don Giovanni on Sept. 18 as well as the ballet Goldilocks on Sept. 14.
Jazz, rock etc.
A series of concerts and other events runs at Vyšehrad until Sept. 22 in the 10th edition of a festival called Vyšehraní. Most concerts start between 6 and 7 p.m., and there is a medieval market on Sept. 21
Jazz Dock has re-opened and will have funk band JAR, featuring Roman Holý and Dan Bárta, for two nights, Sept. 11 and 12 at 10
Japanese producer Makato is at Roxy, Sept. 13 at midnight
South Wales duo Man Without Country is touring to support their debut album Foe. The electronic/shoegaze duo has a slightly '80s sound. Lucerna, Sept. 16 at 8
Vojta Lavička and Gipsy Spirit highlight the Festival of Romany Music. Milan Kroka live Band and the rappers United Gipsy Crew (UGC) also take the stage. Palác Akropolis, Sept. 18 at 6

Czech punk rock band Visací zámek is at Vagon, Sept. 19 at 9
Brechtian punk cabaret band the Tiger Lillies are back to play one of their favorite venues. Archa, Sept. 20 at 7
An evening of almost nonverbal theater about conflict sparked some heated reactions. Israel-based Clipa and Prague-based Teatr Novogo Fronta examine the nature of unending conflicts in With Unarmed Forces. Roxy NoD, Sept. 12 at 8

Fashion Week runs until Sept. 15 with most events at a tent on Alšovo nábřeží
Wine festivals are underway across the country and Prague Castle has one Sept 15 and 15, in the Royal Garden (the park with the Belvedere summer palace) around the area of the Ball Game Court (Míčovna). There is folk dancing and other entertainment for free, and a nominal fee for sampling wine and burčák.
Betlémské náměstí has an open air festival Sept. 18 starting at noon, with exhibitions, art openings, readings and projections at mulitiple locations.
The Line Galleries Prague-Karlin Viaduct project has music and other events from 5 p.m Sept. 19 and then from 10 a.m. Sept 20 and 21 on the Niegrelliho Viadukt between Křižíkova and Sokolovska streets
Jazz Dock is recovering from the floods finally and will host Chris Potter's Underground Sept. 29-30. For classical music fans, Strings of Autumn starts Sept. 23.
The Czech Philharmonic starts its season Oct. 3
A benefit concert for Prison Fellowship Czech Republic called Five Realities of the Wall will raise money for victims as well as to help released prisoners and their families. Oct 5 at 5 p.m., Salesianské divadlo, Kobilyské nám.
